A Historical Guide to Tyria (Update 3)


Hello my fellow explorers! I have just uploaded another update of the Historical Guide to Tyria. More info on how the map was made can be found in my initial reddit post.

What is new:
  • Killn
  • Southsun Cove

Ascalon
  • Ascalon City – Contour of the city ruins still visible now haunted by an army of ghosts.
  • Sardelac Sanitarium –The ruins have deteriorated, the entrance to the catacombs have collapsed with exception of the building Necromancer Munne once stood.
  • Statue of Balthazar – The statue still stands but has deteriorated over time
  • The Barradin Esate – The old estate lies in ruins and is haunted by lots of ghosts.
  • Nolani Academy – These ruins can be seen from a distance from within the black citadel, a constant battle between the charr and ascalonian ghosts is going on.
  • Horn Hill – Stormcaller has been lifted a few levels up and placed on a pedestal
  • Rin – The Durmand Priory can be found excavating the ruins of the old capitol of Ascalon.
  • Searing crystals – Multiple of these have never been removed and still litter the country side.
  • Serenity Temple – Has been hit by the dragon brand and has been corrupted by its magic.
  • Piken Square – Its ruins are one of the most preserved in game, the priory is investigating the tombs of its former residents.
  • Cauldron of Cataclysm NEW - Now dubbed The Cauldron of Searing it still stands at the same location where it destroyed Ascalon 250 years ago
  • Grendich Courthouse – The ghosts of ascalonian soldiers use the ruins to siege Charr in the area. These ruins have opened up allowing you inside the courthouse and the tunnels below it.
  • Historical Monument of Nolani – The temple has been almost completely been demolished, only the base of the structure survived.
  • The Last Day Dawns – At this small temple you help King Adelbern for the last time driving out Charr and the Titans from Ascalon. The charr build an outpost on top of its foundation and got hit by the dragon brand.
  • Charr Camp – During the mission "The Great Northern Wall" you'll stumble upon a huge camp set up by the invading Charr. This camp laid the foundation for the Village of Scalecatch, a charr training camp.
  • Charr Prison Camp – During the quest "Then and Now, Here and There" you help Gwen liberate a prison camp freeing Duke Barradin. The temple ruins have been demolished and the Charr build Nageling (a station housing soldiers mainly).
  • Ghost of Althea - The Charr have named a nearby camp after her
  • Killn NEW - You can find scholar Aimee Testibrie (a descendant of Killn) researching the ruins of the mausoleum.
Northern Shiverpeaks
  • Yak’s Bend – Still the same old camp people know and love. The old Arena has been destroyed.
  • Krok’s Hollow – The fort has mostly been ruined by the dredge mining near it, it consists of multiple dwarven ruins, walls and commemorative tombstones.
  • Iron Horse Mine - The dredge took over and the mine flooded after the rise of Jormag.
Kryta
  • Lion’s Arch – The capitol city of Kryta has sunk to the Ocean floor. The ruins of the old city can still be found in the bay of the new Lion's Arch.
  • Lion's Arch Keep – The priory can be found excavating the foundation of the old keep.
  • Oink – A couple of vegetables started a lemonade stand at the birthplace of Tyria’s greatest hero.. This is unacceptable!
  • Lighthouse – The old LA Lighthouse survived the flood and can now be climbed. Exit through the giftshop.
  • Swamp Ruins – Once mysterious ruins, now the quaint village of Applenook
  • Ascalon Settlement – Grew from a temporary camp housing Ascalonian refuges to a fully fledged town.
  • Nebo Village – Once a small village composed out of a few clay buildings overtime it has become a proper village.
  • Demetra – The main base of the white mantle now lies in ruin.
  • Charr Leader Camp - The camp where Saul defeated the Charr leaders still serves as a vital outpost named Forward Camp
  • Beetletun – A small village that expanded to a large town over the years.
  • Temple of the Ages – Sunk down into the swamp, its statues can still be found lying at the bottom.
  • Shaemoor – Once a small village housing the eye of Janthir, now a small town at the outskirts of Divinity’s Reach.
  • Fishermen’s Haven – Got landlocked and now serves as a trading post
Maguuma Jungle
  • Henge of Denravi – Its ruins are being studied by the Asura.
  • Fort Koga – Its ruins are being haunted by the ghosts of random arena players.
  • Temple of the Unseen – Once the largest of the white mantle temples, the former resting place of the scepter of Orr. Something at these ruins is driving the Skritt insane.
Tarnished Coast
  • G.O.L.E.M. Site – A ceremonial plaque in remembrance of Oola, Sokka, Gadd and Vekk working together against the destroyer tread.
  • Ventari’s Sanctuary – The pale tree got a little bit bigger… just a little bit..
  • Saidra’s Ashes – Mysterious Orrian artifacts showed up at her last resting place.
  • Bogroot Growths – A very small part of the caves can be accessed, filled with spiders and waterfalls.
  • Bloodstone Caves – The entrance lies well hidden between the mountains and has been sealed off with a large gate.
Southern Shiverpeaks
  • Temple of Grenth – Made accessible again via a mine in the North. The underworld is leaking out of portals everywhere.
  • Statue of Dwayna – Lies shattered at the top of a mountain.
  • Sorrow’s Furnace – Taken over by the dredge, now renamed "Sorrow's Embrace" and functions as one of the dungeons.
  • Camp Rankor – Grew larger over time. After being abandoned by the dwarves the priory started examining its ruins.
  • The Granite Citadel - One of the more recognizable ruins, lots of NPC tombstones and priory researchers can be found here
  • Droknar's Forge – Lies at the bottom of the lake, only the gate still stands at the shore.
  • Port Sledge – The Silvary build a new outpost at the port, only the docks can still be found partly submerged.

    do you have a version (of the map of Tyria) that's completely blurry? as in the looks of the map when its unexplored.
